Terms of Service

1. The service

QuoteMySteel is operated by Connect Pointe. You upload the documents for a steel project; we organize the requirements, prepare a budget estimate at current market rates, and recommend U.S. suppliers who can quote the work. We do not manufacture, sell, deliver or install material, and we are not a party to any contract between you and a supplier.

2. Using the service

You can get an estimate without an account. If you create one, keep your credentials secure, provide accurate information and stay responsible for activity under it. The service is a business tool for people acting on behalf of a company or project and is not intended for anyone under 18.

3. Your documents

You keep ownership of everything you upload. By uploading, you give us a limited license to store and process that content, including through third-party AI services, for the purpose of reading your documents, preparing the estimate, recommending suppliers and, where you ask for it, making introductions. You confirm that you are allowed to share the documents and that doing so does not breach a confidentiality obligation or anyone else’s rights.

4. Budget estimates

The estimate is produced automatically from your documents, your answers to any clarifying questions, and market pricing data. It is an informational budget range, not a quote, bid or offer to sell. Where your documents leave something open, the estimate states the assumption it made; you can revise those assumptions and re-run the estimate once per project. Quantities, grades and prices may be incomplete or wrong, and actual supplier pricing will differ. Confirm specifications, quantities and commercial terms with a supplier before you buy.

5. Supplier recommendations

Suppliers are recommended based on your project’s scope, size and location, and their websites are checked automatically before they are listed. A recommendation, or a “Verified” label, means only that the company appears to exist and to serve that kind of work. It is not an endorsement or a warranty of their pricing, capacity, financial condition or the conformity of their material. Any quote, contract or delivery is between you and the supplier.

6. Cost

Estimates and supplier recommendations are free for buyers and create no obligation to purchase from anyone.

7. Acceptable use

• Upload only documents you are authorized to share.
• Do not submit fictitious projects, scrape the service, resell access or use it to train competing systems.
• Do not upload malware or attempt to breach the platform.
• Comply with applicable export and trade regulations.

8. Availability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, that every upload produces an estimate, or a specific turnaround time.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Connect Pointe and QuoteMySteel are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, cost overruns or project delays arising from use of the estimate, the recommendations or any transaction with a supplier. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars.

10. Ending use

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your projects and files. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above, and continued use after that date means you accept the revised terms.
